Terms of use

General conditions for reading and contributing to ScriptaHub.

1. Status and operator

Working draft. These terms are a placeholder and do not become final until the operator details, governing law, content licences and contribution process are completed and reviewed.

The service is operated by [LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS], [REGISTRATION / UID / CUI], contact [LEGAL EMAIL].

2. The service

ScriptaHub provides free access to books, short reading editions, discovery tools and proposal and feedback workflows. Availability, formats and features may change. The AI Librarian suggests paths through the catalogue and does not promise that a result is correct, complete or suitable for a particular purpose.

3. AI-assisted and editorial content

Books may be created or revised with generative AI and may contain errors, omissions or contested interpretations. Readers should check primary and professional sources before relying on content for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other consequential decisions. State the human review and editorial-responsibility process for each publication: [PROCESS].

4. Acceptable use

Visitors may read and link to public pages and use normal accessibility and download functions. They must not interfere with the service, bypass security controls, introduce malicious material, misrepresent authorship, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, or use the proposal channels unlawfully.

5. Intellectual property and licences

Every book or download may state its own licence and attribution requirements. Where no licence is stated, no permission beyond mandatory legal exceptions and ordinary use of the site is granted. Complete the licence for site code, catalogue metadata, covers, reader editions and user contributions: [LICENCE MATRIX].

6. Contributions

Sending an idea or document by email does not guarantee publication, credit or a reply. The proposal workflow must state the licence or permission granted by a contributor, the contributor’s warranties, how personal data is used and how accepted credit is recorded. The existing contribution agreement applies where the proposal form links to it.

7. Responsibility

The service is supplied with the level of care required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer rights. Insert a proportionate limitation for the actual operator and service after legal review: [LIABILITY CLAUSE].

8. Governing law and disputes

Choose the rule that matches the operator’s establishment and does not remove mandatory protections available to consumers: [ROMANIAN / SWISS / OTHER LAW], [COMPETENT COURTS OR ADR PROCESS]. Provide the relevant EU online or national consumer-dispute information if the service becomes a consumer contract.

9. Changes and contact

Publish the effective date and keep prior material versions available. Contact [LEGAL EMAIL] with questions. Last draft update: 3 September 2026.
